Randle’s Off Night Raises Questions in Timberwolves’ Loss to Thunder
Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch gave a clear explanation for benching forward Julius Randle during the fourth quarter of Game 2 in the Western Conference Finals. Randle, typically a reliable presence, struggled mightily—finishing with just six points on 2-of-11 shooting and four turnovers.
Finch Seeks Floor Spacing and Quick Decisions
Following the 118–103 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Finch told reporters he was looking to change the pace and spacing of the game.
“I was looking to change the flow of the game. We needed better spacing and quicker decision-making on the floor,” Finch said.
Naz Reid took Randle’s place down the stretch, providing a much-needed spark. Reid contributed 10 points, and the Timberwolves narrowed the gap in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Thunder 32–25, though it wasn’t enough to close the game.
